Description
Bar BQ Tonight Restaurant on Karachi’s waterfront has been noted as one of the best Bar BQ food outlet of Asia. Earlier this used to be a 120-person restaurant with a medium sized hall on one floor and an adjoining frontcourt for sit down eating. With increasing demand owners decided to expand the restaurant substantially, thus purchased the entire building (having apartments on the upper two floors and a penthouse on the rooftop). The new restaurant is now the largest in Pakistan having a seating capacity of 650 persons under its roof. The firm undertook architectural and interior design task, including furniture and fixtures. Design theme focused on enhancing the utility of available space, which was enlivened to the maximum. The design solutions were developed to overcome the spatial and structural constraints that existed due to the residential nature of the building now entirely remodeled to serve the increased use. Outcome of the project was envisaged to provide the premises with a well-organized kitchen, pantry and storage spaces capable of handling the
rising numbers of customers. Besides, the place evolved to possess a definite indoor dining space, extrapolated in quality and dimensions. The roof top and the ground floor with the front court were developed into an out door dining area fully utilizing the pleasant evening weather (due to sea breeze) and glittering view of the city skyline from the rooftop.
